Preparations of the 2ndICIF is going on smoothly. On October 24 2005, promotion conference of the 2ndICIF was held, in which the next step was planned. Li Yizhen, Vice Secretary of the CPC Shenzhen Municipal Committee, and Wang Jingsheng, member of the Standing Committee of the CPC Shenzhen Municipal Committee, Director of the Publicity Department of the CPC Shenzhen Municipal Committee, stated that booth participating is the most important thing in the preparation work of the 2ndICIF, and overseas booth participating is of key importance. We should make great effort of the whole city to accomplish this important task, striving to make Chinese cultural products exported to the world. Participated in this conference were principals of Publicity Department of the CPC Shenzhen Municipal Committee, United Front Work Department, Office of the Government, Foreign Affairs Department, International Communication Office, Taiwan Affairs Office, Cultural Bureau, Tourism Department, Trade & Development Department, Foreign Office, Shenzhen Press Group, Shenzhen Media Group, Shenzhen Circulation Group etc.
To make ICIF go abroad, the organizing committee has taken various measures including through the international relation network inviting merchants, planning promotion conference with embassies home and abroad, culture and commerce counselors, cooperating with overseas foreign office unions, planning to cooperate with strong mediate organizations, making use of the government resources, through various media promotion setting up a global project of transmitting Chinese cultural, establishing the plan and scheme of overseas media promotions, inviting domestic and foreign newspapers and magazines to cover the event of ICIF, participating relevant fair promotions, collecting information of purchasers and buyers, setting up database spot-to-spot promotion through exhibitors. In the next step, the organizing committee will start up overseas promotions.
Li Yizhen completely agreed all the work have been done. He pointed out that ICIF's full name is China (Shenzhen) International Cultural Industry Fair, different from the 1st ICIF, 2ndICIF is named China and is added "trade". The 2ndICIF pops out of trade of culture, and gives prominence to the export of Chinese cultural products. This requests that the 2ndICIF not only build a trade platform for supply and need parts, but also build a platform for the export of Chinese cultural products. ICIF is not only a matter of Shenzhen City, but a national-leveled fair, which will be a challenge for ICIF. Li Yizhen also expressed that the 1st ICIF has already set up a brand, so the 2ndICIF must strive to make a better brand. Overseas sales and trade is the key success to the 2ndICIF.
Li Yizhen said, to attract multitudinous overseas buyers to join the trade of cultural products of ICIF, and greatly increase the internationalization of ICIF, we should make great effort of the whole city. Only depending on the hosts---Shenzhen Press Group, Shenzhen Media Group, Shenzhen Circulation Group, and ICIF CO., Ltd. is not enough, we should take strong measures. We should make use of various departments, channels and network relations to help us, and cooperate to develop market. These will be more effective. He requested that 2ndICIF should promote positively to the outside world, try our best to attract culture officers of various countries, government delegations of sister cities, well-known cultural industry groups of the world, merchants, cultural mediate organizations to join the 2ndICIF. By making Chinese culture and international cultural joint together through ICIF, we strive to make Shenzhen to be the export base of Chinese cultural products.
Wang Jingsheng stated that all departments in Shenzhen should have strong cognition of ICIF. It's easy to hold a fair, but the most difficulties lie in making a authoritative, specialized, internationalized, blooming fair. The failure or success of the 2ndICIF is greatly affect the rallying point of the ICIF brand. As a result, all departments in Shenzhen should attach importance and support to the ICIF, make full use of any opportunity to promote and form omni-directional promotion strategies. Meanwhile, ICIF Co., Ltd should be strengthened, and make its great effort to the success of the 2ndICIF.
