4. Features of the ICIF 2006

(1) High standard, unprecedented scale

The ICIF has strong supports from top leaders of the CPC Central Committee and the State Council. It is co-sponsored by Ministry of Culture, State Administration of Radio, Film, and Television, General Administration of Press and Publication, Guangdong Provincial Government, and Shenzhen Municipal Government. It is China's only State-level, international and comprehensive platform for cultural transactions. The planned exhibition area for the second ICIF reaches 105,000 square meters, 2.5 times more than that of the first ICIF.

(2) Professional, productive

The second ICIF focuses on trade and a professional exhibition. It will stage exhibitions and conventions on export of cultural products, on development and use of cultural resources, as well as cultural content products, services and projects. Professional visitors will be widely invited. Professional events such as China Export-Oriented Cultural Products Exhibition and China Cultural Industry Projects Investment and Financing Talks will be held to attract cultural industry groups, investors, buyers, dealers, and cultural funds from China and abroad.

(3) Focus on industry trends, push industry to upgrade

The second ICIF will fully display the latest achievements of China's cultural industry. It will promote the newest ideas in the world's cultural industry, reflect the latest trend of the integration between cultural and information industries, and push China's cultural industry to stronger core competitiveness. Animation, design and media industries will be the major focuses at the second ICIF.

(4) Attracting international buyers and promoting cultural exports

The second ICIF will strengthen international sales by making use of strong support from governments and funds. It will hold International Intermediaries Cooperation and Promotion Briefing, and ICIF Overseas Capital Inviting Briefing. The ICIF will also help Chinese cultural products secure overseas orders and explore international markets by making use of existing overseas networks and various databases of overseas buyers.

(5) Strong publicity and famous brand name

The ICIF is organized and runned by China's mainstream media groups. In the first ICIF, more than 6,000 reports about the fair from 161 media organizations were published during that period. Nearly 500,000 people visited the fair. The second ICIF is expected to attract more media organizations to cover the event and provides the exhibitors with full support.
